How To Top Up Singtel Prepaid Card and Singtel Roaming Data

Hey there! In this blog, we will be showing you how to top up Singtel prepaid simcard data or even just how to extend it’s validity while also talking about almost everything you need to know about Singtel’s prepaid cards

To top up Singtel Prepaid card, you will need to first download the “Singtel Prepaid hi!App” on Google Playstore or Apple App Store

If you have already downloaded the Singtel Prepaid hi!app, please launch the app and key in your Singtel Prepaid Mobile Number are not logged in or if you have not done so yet. (We advise to top up Singtel Prepaid card over Wifi if possible) 

Once you have keyed in your Singtel Prepaid mobile number, select “LOG IN” and you will receive an OTP through SMS (Charges may apply) 

Once you have received the OTP, key in your OTP (One-Time Password) and select “SUBMIT” If you do not receive an OTP within 2 to 4 minutes, please select “Resend One-Time Password” to have a new OTP sent to your Singtel Prepaid number again.

Once you have logged in, you are able to see your current Singtel Prepaid Card Balance and when it expires

If you would like to top up your Singtel Prepaid card, please select the “TOP UP” button located directly under the expiry date of your sim card and select the balance you would like to top up.

For this example, we will top up $25 to our Singtel Hi!Prepaid card. Topping up other amounts should be the same steps (please note that all currencies mentioned on this page will be in SGD also known as “Singapore Dollar”):

Select on the $25 button (or you can select which ever amount you would like to top up) (depending on the amount you have selected to top up, there will be different descriptions) If you have selected the $25 hi! Top-Up Card option,  your account will have $25 topped up to your main account (extends your sim cards validity by 180 days) among other items.

Once you have selected your preferred amount to top up, please choose your preferred payment method and confirm the details of how much you would like to top up, the start date, your Singtel Prepaid card number, the payment method and the amount you would like to top up.

When you have confirmed everything, select “CONFIRM” depending on the payment method, you will be brought to their website or whichever method you have selected. 

Once you have made payment, the amount you have topped up should be reflected on your “Main Account Balance” at the homepage of the hi!App

How to check when does your Singtel Prepaid Card expire

To view your Singtel Prepaid Sim card Stored value/Singtel Prepaid card balance, you will need to first download the “Singtel Prepaid hi!App” on Google Playstore or Apple App Store

If you have already downloaded the Singtel Prepaid hi!app, please launch the app and key in your Singtel Prepaid Mobile Number are not logged in or if you have not done so yet. (We advise to top up Singtel Prepaid card over Wifi if possible) 

Once you have keyed in your Singtel Prepaid mobile number, select “LOG IN” and you will receive an OTP through SMS (Charges may apply) 

Once you have received the OTP, key in your OTP (One-Time Password) and select “SUBMIT” If you do not receive an OTP within 2 to 4 minutes, please select “Resend One-Time Password” to have a new OTP sent to your Singtel Prepaid number again.

Once you have logged in, you will be able to see your current Singtel Prepaid card balance at the top of the screen and when is the Singtel Prepaid sim card expiry date.

To extend the validity of your Singtel Prepaid Sim card, you will need to first download the “Singtel Prepaid hi!App” on Google Playstore or Apple App Store

If you have already downloaded the Singtel Prepaid hi!app, please launch the app and key in your Singtel Prepaid Mobile Number are not logged in or if you have not done so yet. (We advise to top up Singtel Prepaid card over Wifi if possible) 

Once you have keyed in your Singtel Prepaid mobile number, select “LOG IN” and you will receive an OTP through SMS (Charges may apply) 

Once you have received the OTP, key in your OTP (One-Time Password) and select “SUBMIT” If you do not receive an OTP within 2 to 4 minutes, please select “Resend One-Time Password” to have a new OTP sent to your Singtel Prepaid number again.

Once you have logged in, you will be able to see your current Singtel Prepaid card balance at the top of the screen and when is the Singtel Prepaid sim card expiry date. 

If you would still like to extend your Singtel Prepaid card validity, please select “TOP UP” and scroll to the bottom of the page where you will be given two options, you can either extend your prepaid sim card’s validity by 60 days (2 months at either $2 or $0.99 SGD as of writing) or selecting the 90 days extension (3 months at either $3 or $1.40 SGD as of writing 24 August 2022)

For this example, we will be extending the Singtel Prepaid Card for 90 days. Different extensions should be similar/the same:

To select 90 days extension (or 60 days) select the amount beside the displayed extension period “$1.4”

As of writing, you will only be able to extend your main account/sim card validity by paying through your Main account balance. Please select “Main Account” if you would still like to extend the validity of your Singtel Prepaid account/Card

Please confirm the details before confirming the transaction. The screen should display, “Purchase” which shows which extension you have selected, “Start Date” meaning when will the extension of 90 days (or the amount of days you have selected) will be extended from (meaning if it starts on 1 September 2022, the card/account will be extended until 30 November 2022, “Number” meaning the Singtel Prepaid number you are extending, “Payment Method” meaning where the amount of money you will be paying will be deducted from and “AMOUNT” the amount that will be deducted of your account to extend your Singtel Prepaid account/number/card.

If you have confirmed the details, please select “CONFIRM” located at the bottom of the screen.

Once everything has been completed, you should be able to see the updated expiry date at the homepage of the Singtel hi!App.

Select “TOP UP DATA” located below “Data Bucket” and select the Singtel Prepaid Data Plan which you would like to purchase (different data plans will be for different use cases, so be sure to choose properly!) 

Once you have selected the plan you would like to purchase, please select your preferred payment method (If you select “Main Account” the amount for the plan of which you have selected will be deducted) confirm the details of the plan that you are about to purchase. Please make sure it is the correct plan you would like and confirm the prepaid number you will be topping up and select “CONFIRM” at the bottom of the screen.

Singtel data roaming in Malaysia/Thailand etc

Located at the bottom of the Singtel hi!App, please select “Top Up” and scroll down until you seem “Roaming Plans” please select “Roaming Plans”

Select the plan you would like to get (different plans are for different countries so please be sure to read carefully before which plan you would like)

Once you have selected the plan you would like to purchase for Singtel Roaming Data, please choose your mode of payment and confirm the details on the screen and select “Confirm” once you are sure of what you would like to purchase.

Singtel data roaming in Malaysia/Thailand etc

If you are planning on visiting another country and would like to use/keep your current Singtel Postpaid sim card instead of having to deal with the hassle of switching sim cards, you are able to buy overseas roaming data directly through Singtel Roaming Data. The following steps are on how to purchase/activate Singtel Roaming Data:

First, make sure to download the “My Singtel” App if you have not already done so. Apple App Store My Singtel Link, Google Playstore My Singtel Link

Once you have installed the My Singtel App or if you have already installed the app, please open the My Singtel App.

We recommend you use your phone’s mobile data to get auto-logged into the My Singtel App to make everything more convenient.

If you would only like to use Wifi to log into the My Singtel app, please follow the instructions below.

If you are currently on Wifi, you will need to log into the app by selecting the “Log in” option or by creating an account. If you do not have an account or would not like to register an account, please select “Log in” and select “Network or OTP” You will then be asked to turn off your Wifi and use your data or to get an SMS OTP where you will first need to key in your Singtel mobile number and select or press “Get SMS OTP”

Once you have logged into the My Singtel App, please select/click on the three dots located beside your phone number, select “Add-ons”, click on “ROAMING”, click on “BUY ADD-ONS” and select on the country you are interested in buying Singtel Roaming Data for. 

In this example, we talk about how to buy roaming data for Malaysia but the steps for all the other countries listed on the My Singtel App for Singtel Data roaming should be the same. 
Once we have selected “Malaysia”, select the plan you would like, select again the plan you are interested in getting if you have been asked again, select the start and end date for when you would like the Singtel Data roaming plan to start and end. For example, if you are going to Malaysia from 1 September to 10 September and would like your data roaming to start on 1 September, be sure to indicate that as the starting date on when you would like the roaming plan to activate. Depending on the roaming plan you have selected, you might be able to select the end date or the app itself will auto-add the end date for you. 

If you have confirmed the starting date of when you would like your data to start/end, please click on “NEXT” located at the bottom right of the phone. Once again, please confirm the details of when you would like your data roaming to start/end and select “CONFIRM ORDER” at the end of confirm order, it should show the total cost of your plan. Be sure to read the entire tab for the terms and conditions of your plan. 

You will need to scroll to the bottom of the “Payment Summary” tab where you will need to click on the box to confirm that you agree with the terms stated. The box will be beside the text saying “I agree with the terms above”

If you are at your travel destination and the data does not work instantly, we recommend restarting your phone as that might help.
